So did we say a prayer today ?

For who ? For ourselves. Did we do something, some ritual that affirmed our faith today ? In what ? In ourselves. Our ability to connect with our inner selves. For if we do not, who is this person that is working, loving, talking etc. It’s certainly not you.

It’s an everyday search for me. For that something that can put me in touch with myself. My connection to consciousness. My connection to loving nature.
Of course many people have faith. Which is a wonderful ability. I don’t have blind faith. I am more of a searcher. Questioner. Good, bad ? I don’t know. No value judgements on any faith or the question of faith. Or on myself.
Some people do it with meditation first thing in the morning. I have never been able to do that. I have to connect to something, however small, however little, to loose my sense of individuality. That’s the daily struggle. Against my own exaggarated sense of myself. I am so used to it. I have relied on it for so many years. So tough to let go now. Not that I have never questioned it before. But now, it is really important for me to be truly ‘active’ rather than ‘reactive’, which is what I have done most of my life. And how do I know what that ‘true’ action is ? Unless I am constantly in touch with something larger, more immense, more universal than myself ?
Yes I know. By letting go. By allowing yourself not to be addicted to the result of your action. By allowing chaos to invade your life. Yes, I agree. All of that. I do allow chaos to prevade in my life. I am impeteous (spelling). But then the individual in me fights back hard.
It’s an everyday battle. This battle to let go of one’s addiction to one’s sense of individuality.
Yet, the smallest of things can provoke the sensing of my flowing into something much much larger. Something infinite.
This morning it was my 5 year old daughter waking me up with a loud ‘Peekaboo’ and the tinkling of an early morning laugh.
Sometimes it;s just getting up early enough to watch the first shades of dark blue brush across the sky. Something deeply stirring about that.
Sometimes it’s unexpected gestures of affection that were not sought. Or given so instinctually that you were not aware of them.
Sometimes, it’s writing a poem. But only if the words are coming from somewhere else. As if something is flowing through you, a river of emotion you can physically feel that flows through your being.
But it is always so unexpected. So much that I am constantly aware now. My senses hightened. Waiting for that unexpected moment.
When something deeper will reach out and engulf me, and give my life, and all my actions, however small, a deeper and all encompassing context. On a daily basis.
So say a prayer for me. And for yourself.

  4. Discovering the inner world is true but, why do we have to distinguish the inner world with the outside world. The very fact we are in the outside world means that we are part of it.
The concept of oneness, where everyone is one, perhaps means when I am praying for myself and I am praying for everybody.

  6. You may say “I believe what I believe, and that’s that. No one can take
away my faith!” That is fine, but you are only making a mockery of
human intelligence, and insulting thousands of years of human endeavor.
Progress has not come from the church, or religion, or god. It has come
from humans; humans using reasoned faith, not blind faith.

  7. I think most people, even the most ardently religious, will agree that there are forms of belief that are not desirable. Christians will often say that faith in Allah or Vishnu, or ancient deities like Zevs, Odin or Ba’al, is not only undesirable but outright evil. And in the same way, believers in Allah may argue that faith in the Christian God is highly undesirable. And most people today will agree that belief in the tenets of certain totalitarian philosophies, like Nazism, is extremely undesirable and evil.

  20. Celestine Insights
    THE FIRST INSIGHT . . . A CRITICAL MASS
A new spiritual awakening is occurring in human culture, an awakening brought about by a critical mass of individuals who experience their lives as a spiritual unfolding, a journey in which we are led forward by mysterious coincidences.

  21. THE SECOND INSIGHT . . . THE LONGER NOW
This awakening represents the creation of a new, more complete worldview, which replaces a five-hundred-year-old preoccupation with secular survival and comfort. While this technological preoccupation was an important step, our awakening to life’s coincidences is opening us up to the real purpose of human life on this planet, and the real nature of our universe.

  22. THE THIRD INSIGHT . . . A MATTER OF ENERGY
We now experience that we live not in a material universe, but in a universe of dynamic energy. Everything extant is a field of sacred energy that we can sense and intuit. Moreover, we humans can project our energy by focusing our attention in the desired direction…where attention goes, energy flows…influencing other energy systems and increasing the pace of coincidences in our lives.

  23. THE FOURTH INSIGHT . . . THE STRUGGLE FOR POWER
Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce, human energy is the cause of all conflict between people.

  24. THE FIFTH INSIGHT . . . THE MESSAGE OF THE MYSTICS
Insecurity and violence ends when we experience an inner connection with divine energy within, a connection described by mystics of all traditions. A sense of lightness–buoyancy–along with the constant sensation of love are measures of this connection. If these measures are present, the connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.

  25. THE SIXTH INSIGHT . . . CLEARING THE PAST
The more we stay connected, the more we are acutely aware of those times when we lose connection, usually when we are under stress. In these times, we can see our own particular way of stealing energy from others. Once our manipulations are brought to personal awareness, our connection becomes more constant and we can discover our own growth path in life, and our spiritual mission–the personal way we can contribute to the world.

  26. THE SEVENTH INSIGHT . . . ENGAGING THE FLOW
Knowing our personal mission further enhances the flow of mysterious coincidences as we are guided toward our destinies. First we have a question; then dreams, daydreams, and intuitions lead us towards the answers, which usually are synchronistically provided by the wisdom of another human being.

  27. THE EIGHTH INSIGHT . . . THE INTERPERSONAL ETHIC
We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences by uplifting every person that comes into our lives. Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in romantic relationships. Uplifting others is especially effective in groups where each member can feel energy of all the others. With children it is extremely important for their early security and growth. By seeing the beauty in every face, we lift others into their wisest self, and increase the chances of hearing a synchronistic message.

  28. THE NINTH INSIGHT . . . THE EMERGING CULTURE
As we all evolve toward the best completion of our spiritual missions, the technological means of survival will be fully automated as humans focus instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move humans into higher energy states, ultimately transforming our bodies into spiritual form and uniting this dimension of existence with the after-life dimension, ending the cycle of birth and death.

  29. THE TENTH INSIGHT . . . HOLDING THE VISION
The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout history human beings have been unconsciously struggling to implement this lived spirituality on Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we pull this understanding into consciousness, we can remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to accomplish with our lives. Further we can remember a common world vision of how we will all work together to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our challenge is to hold this vision with intention and prayer everyday.

  30. THE ELEVENTH INSIGHT . . . EXTENDING PRAYER FIELDS
The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. It has been called faith power, positive thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking this power seriously enough to bring a fuller knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision. This is the power through which we hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision a reality.

  32. Telecommunications king Ted Rogers dead at 75

TORONTO — Ted Rogers, creator of Canada’s largest cable-television and mobile-phone company, has died at his Toronto home at the age of 75.
The founder of Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B) had been treated in hospital in October for an existing heart condition.
A statement from the company early Tuesday said he was surrounded by loved ones when he died.
“Ted Rogers was one of a kind who built this company from one FM radio station into Canada’s largest wireless, cable and media company,” said Rogers Communications chairman and acting chief executive officer Alan Horn.
Rogers, long listed as one of Canada’s wealthiest people, earlier handed over his corporate duties to Horn.
In addition to the Rogers cable, wireless, radio and television businesses, the company owns the Toronto Blue Jays and their home the Rogers Centre, five Citytv stations and an array of other media properties including Maclean’s and Chatelaine magazines.
The statement from Rogers Communications said a permanent successor as chief executive officer will be appointed by the company’s board, “which intends to form a special committee to lead a search considering internal and external candidates.”
The list of potential CEOs, as the family retains control of the corporation through multiple-voting shares, includes Ted Rogers’ son Edward, president of Rogers Cable, and his daughter Melinda, a vice-president of the corporation.
Another prominent possibility is Nadir Mohamed, who managed the rise of the Rogers mobile-phone business into the country’s biggest and most profitable.
Rogers Communications vice-chairman Phil Lind, who worked alongside Ted Rogers for almost 40 years, says the cable pioneer “will be missed by so many.”
“Though Ted was relentless in business and building this company over the years, he was also very much a family man,” said Lind.
In 1950 at the age of 17, Ted Rogers made a list of things he wanted to accomplish in life which included, among other things, becoming a successful entrepreneur.
In his recent autobiography, “Relentless: The True Story of the Man Behind Rogers Communications,” Rogers described the resistance he faced when he asked his board of directors to invest $500,000 in wireless technology in 1983.
“Every board member voted against me, even my wife,” he wrote.
“They forced me to put my own money on the line, which I did. I just knew wireless was the next big thing and I wasn’t about to miss it.”
Rogers’ investment paid off in spades, turning what started out as Rogers Cantel into Canada’s largest cellphone company. Today Rogers Communications employs 24,000 people and is worth about $18 billion.
Rogers was widely regarded as a visionary who could size up the latest communications technology, then produce a plan and a pot of money to invest in it — taking on breathtaking debt if necessary.
Rogers’ early investment in high-speed Internet, making Rogers one of the first cable companies in the world to do so, was a pivotal decision that solidified the company’s market presence.
Rogers believed that while only a limited number of people would subscribe to high-speed services initially, the investment would pay off in the long run.
The company now has 1.6 million Internet subscribers across Canada.
But not every business decision Rogers made was as successful.
In 1989, Rogers paid $288.7 million to buy 40 per cent of CNCP Telecommunications, later renamed Unitel Inc. By 1995, Unitel’s debt forced it to restructure and Rogers pulled out, with a loss of $500 million.
In his book, Rogers described this as “the worst business disaster of my life.”
While he was widely praised for his business acumen and willingness to take risks, he was also criticized for taking on too much debt and emphasizing expansion over profits and dividends. He was unabashedly proud in recent years as Rogers Communications became regarded as a blue-chip corporation with a steady payout to investors.
Tall and sandy-haired, Rogers was known as a workaholic and a demanding boss.
An event that decisively shaped his life was the death of his father when he was five years old.
Edward Rogers, a radio pioneer who founded Toronto radio station CFRB (for Canada’s First Rogers Batteryless), was 39 when he died of overwork and a bleeding ulcer in the late 1930s.
“I didn’t get into broadcasting out of any smarts,” Rogers once told a reporter. “I was emotionally attracted to it because of my father.”
Rogers grew up as part of the establishment in Toronto. He lived in the upper-crust neighbourhood of Forest Hills and attended nearby Upper Canada College, which educated many of Canada’s wealthiest families for decades.
His first business foray came in 1960 while articling as a law student. Using borrowed money, Rogers bought Toronto radio station CHFI-FM at a time when it was the only FM station in Canada.
Capital supplied by the wealthy Eaton and Bassett families helped pay for a move into the cable TV business in 1967 that capitalized on the spread of television.
Rogers stayed on top of developments in telecommunications, branching out into cheap long-distance telephone service, cellphones and high-speed Internet. Most recently, the company became the sole Canadian distributor of Apple’s spectacularly selling iPhone.
In 1991, Rogers was named an officer of the Order of Canada.
Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory, a former executive of Rogers, said “no Canadian of his generation achieved more and gave more back than Ted Rogers.”
“He was a visionary, an entrepreneur and a nationalist and built one of North America’s great companies. Ted Rogers represented the gold standard when it comes to great Canadians. He will be sorely missed.”
In later life, Rogers suffered from heart problems and at one point underwent quadruple bypass surgery.
“It seems like I am undergoing some sort of medical procedure every six months or so related to heart failure, or to aneurysms, melanoma, glaucoma and other things,” he wrote in his book.
But Rogers didn’t let his poor health slow his work habits. Indeed, he was conducting business from his bedside almost immediately after his bypass surgery.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, whom he married in 1963, and their four children — Edward, Lisa, Melinda and Martha.

  33. healing loving prayers to Ted Rogers’ family and friends.
May his spirit soar with the angels…
