  1. In the 1770s Jamaica a group of slaves, metallurgists in their native West Africa, perfected the processing of scrap iron into high quality wrought iron. Their forge was forcibly shut down and the process and machinery removed to Portsmouth by/for a man named Cate, who ‘patented ‘ the process. When other crimes of his came to light, the patent lapsed and the process became available to every iron master in the country and the basis of the Industrial Revolution.
    Please make this film !

  2. Hello

I live in the UK, London. I wanted to see if it’s possible to get Dil Se screened on a cinema for its 25th anniversary.

    How can this be done?

  3. Namaskaram,
My name is Arun and I am a high school history teacher at Isha Home school. I was watching the Pradhanmantri series the other day and it is well documented. Congrats..! I was wondering if I could get English subtitles for the videos. Could you please help me with this? Tried many sources and could not find it. Hence reaching to you. Pranams.

  4. Are we achieving or accumulating?

Are we here to accumulate Karma ?
    Or
Are we here to shed off//pay off the accumulated Karma ?
    (Confusion!)

  5. Pranam,

Taking inspiration from your writing. I have been into writing books and novels from few years. (Enemy in Me & Half Widow)

My third and upcoming Hindi book, titled “Kataksh” is a compilation of 108 profound thoughts that have emerged from a series of experiences under the guidance of Guru.

These thoughts delve into the realms of life, existence, habits, human nature and the interconnectedness of all these. Each thought is a window into the self for deep introspection and contemplation about self-discovery, transformation, and well-being.

Realisation is the key to rise above their stuck mindset and reach to the level of a true human being, however this book helps them to rethink and reshuffle their thought process.

Although, I humbly request you to read and review the book, if you feel so. As a writer, you understand well that writing is just a part but promoting is a toughest task.

Entire reading takes about only 15-20 minutes.

I will wait for your response.

    Have a happy reading.

    Thanks
    Pranam

If this silence is because of health,
    Please take rest!

  9. The most beautiful thing that can ‘happen’ is Love.
    But
The most beautiful thing that you can ‘experience’ is Longing.

    And
It is only in Longing that there is so much “Belonging” ,
    Not even in Love.

“You Belong where you are needed”

    Purpose solved!
    Purpose fulfilled!
    No?

  11. I picked up the newspapers to test my compassion levels.
How many tears would i shed,
How much pain would the headlines inflict,
How much empathetic would i feel….

    Then
    I wondered
    How inhumane I have become!
    How stoic i am!

I thanked MAYA and resumed my day!

    (Should I be saying so?
    I donno!)

  12. Hello Sir,
This is Rakesh from Delhi. I wanted to share a script with you and wanted to know the process of doing so. I am a budding writer registered by SWA.

    Waiting for a reply.

  13. Pranam. To introduce myself, I’m Dinesh. I’m an aspiring screen writer & I want to narrate a story to Mr. Kapur. It’s titled “Tat Tvam Asi”. It’s a spiritual philosophical drama and it’s a registered work. I’ve been trying to connect with sir over Instagram and perhaps I’ve also managed to grab his attention(karmathekey). I will appreciate it someone could respond back and help me connect with Shekharji. At least if I could forward the synopsis to begin with.
    Thank you.

  14. ‘Ditto ‘

    (Sau saal pahale….
    Aaj bhi hai
    aur
    kal bhi rahega..)

If we keep solving every mystery that is there,
    How will HE exist?
    No?

  15. Spoken word:
    I’ve heard what you’ve said,
now tell me what you mean!

    Written word:
I know how to carry my weight!
(This one also knows how to throw its weight around!)

    What’s your favourite?

  16. I have a gripping screenplay that you might like. Your films and blogs make me feel as if it’s yours to direct. I’ll send the treatment if you are interested x

  17. As you sail towards your goal,

if your sail is smooth without you having to take control,
it is an indication that madam Kaayanaat(the Universe) is at work.
so relax and enjoy the ride!

    but
if you have a fluttering sail,
madam Kaayanaat has something special to say.
    so pay attention!
she will not let go of you till you get it right.

    moral of the story:
why fear when miss Universe is here!

Wishing you the very best time with miss kaayanaat!
enjoy your ride, i mean, your sail!

  18. Dear Mr. Kapur,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to tell you how deeply I admire your work and the way your films have shaped my own creative journey. Watching Mr. India was in many ways defining moment for me—it opened my eyes to the magic of cinema and the power of storytelling to inspire wonder, hope, and imagination.

Following your posts on Instagram have been very enlightening. It truly makes my day when you love my comments on your posts, somewhere I feel deeply that we have a soul connection. Recently, I directed my first short film, which was in many ways a humble homage to Mr. India. Through it, I discovered the joy of leading a creative vision from script to screen, and it reaffirmed my desire to pursue filmmaking as my life’s work.

This summer, I had the privilege of attending the USC School of Cinematic Arts Summer Program in collaboration with Warner Bros. The experience was transformative, pushing me to refine my voice as a storyteller and to understand film as not just an art form, but as a responsibility to move people and bring about change.

As I continue this journey, it would mean the world to me if I could learn under your guidance. If there is any opportunity to shadow you or be a part of your creative process, I would be profoundly grateful. I know the chance to observe and learn from you would help shape my future as a young filmmaker and give me lessons that no classroom could ever provide.

Thank you for the inspiration you’ve given me through your films, and for the possibility of helping nurture the next generation of storytellers.

Really hoping to hear back from you, it would be as if God has listened to my prayers

    With deep respect and gratitude,
    Yuvraj Kalsi

  19. Dear Sir, Wishing you well,Did you know that India developed indigenous technology in color cinematography between 1945 and 1955? I’m sure you don’t have this information. But it’s a harsh truth. Mr. Prem Adib, a famous actor at the time, was trying to use this technique for the first time in his films.I still have the authentic documents of this technology.A book has been written on this subject. The title of the book is Believe It or Not. This could be an important topic for a curious person like you. Thank you with regards.

  20. Dear Mr. Kapur,

I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been a fan of your work for as long as I can remember, and Bandit Queen has stayed with me in ways few films ever have. There’s a fearless energy in your storytelling that reminds me of Godard—the way he broke rules and challenged audiences—and the same rebellious spirit I love in Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper in Easy Rider. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s music adds a haunting intensity that makes the film almost impossible to forget.

I often think about how Satyajit Ray, early in his career, wanted to meet your uncle, Chetan Anand, and even Billy Wilder—though Wilder rejected him. Chetan Sahab has always been my hero, and I’ve always dreamed of winning my first Palme d’Or. I feel a similar pull: I would be deeply honored to meet you, hear your stories, and explore the possibility of making a documentary on your life. I would approach it with the same care and reverence that Shyam Benegal brought to chronicling Ray’s life.

A little about me: I’m a filmmaker from Delhi, and I’ve lived in New York, California, and elsewhere. I’ve directed a few short films and a feature, and I’m passionate about telling stories with honesty and depth.

Meeting you would truly be a dream. I sincerely hope you’ll consider giving me this opportunity.

    Thanks,
    Ankit
