Scientists have named the so called ‘God’ particle as the most elusive particle in existence. It is the particle that scientists need to explain the fundamental connection between that which is illusory and matter. Between anti matter which no one can find or state, and matter which you can touch and measure to your great comfort. One , in theory, unable to exist without the other. The known is only made possible by the unknown.
Perhaps the scientists are looking for something that is elusive in its very nature, so elusive that it has a duality. It is both there and not there at the same time. That duality is the ultimate nature of the Universe, it exists and it does not, at the same time and in the same moment, and both are absolutely true realities, depending on your imagination, or depending upon the scientist’s case – their experiment,
whch in this caseis a 7 billion dollar experiment (the Hadron Collider) to define a duality as one or the other. It would be fascinating if they came up with a the God particle as it called. They will be one closer to exploring one of the dualities, but each time the scientists try and find a link between the dualities, it will always be elusive, for the link lies in the immense imagination of the Universe that we are part of and often forget, that connection is in it’s nature infinite, so how do we define it ?

Often wondered why and how the concept of zero was never questioned in mathematics. It is the infinite number that makes mathematical equations possible, the theories of the beginings of the Big Bang possible, and yet it has no definable existence – it a ‘no number’ or an ‘infinite’ number’ depending which way your imagination turns. The great sages live that ultimate state every moment. As Nisargadatta Maharaj said about his state..it fluctuates between all and nothing. The ultimate is lived through unlearning. However, the by-products of these monkey experiments on earth feed the design of the future.
Anything that is found in this illusion is another illusion. The ultimate has no definition, the way to it is through the thread of the observer, not the observed.
That is why the advatic (non-dual) teachings of Hinduism are priceless..because they are the only ones that provide constant energized direction to go within. The term God particle is a misnomer. Physicist Leon Lederman wanted to name is book “Goddamn particle” because of the elusive nature of this particle, as you have said, but censure issues made him to change to “God particle”. I work in a large nuclear physics lab in the US. As far as I can tell no body uses this term in our community. It is called ‘Higgs particle’ and if it is found it will tell us why anything around us have mass.
And regarding the matter anti-matter, I think you got confused between anti-matter and dark matter. You said,

We make anti-matter all the time in the accelerator, anti-electrons(called positrons), anti-protons etc. What we can’t find is dark matter which is not made of matter as we know it (it is not made of any of the known fundamental particles), although we know it exists from our observations.
Sorry for being so strict about getting things right but I like the spirit in which you were talking about all these things.
We can safely say that we are nowhere near understanding the God. It is a big mystery out there still!

Shekharji, in the larger scheme of things, aren’t we all God’s particles? Always working towards the illusions of life, plural in how we react to the environments that bear us, and always colliding with one another in our existentialist attitudes to life. Like matter and anti-matter, our minds seem to exist in transient states of duality, constantly struggling between spiritual and the material, good and the bad, giving or gaining, and living or dying – a reflection, I must say, on binary systems of zeroes and ones which today run this world. And all this while being oblivious to the fact that we are but a speck in this universe. Somewhere our creators must be laughing their heads off about mankind’s quest for God particle. This must after all be just a moment in the function of time for them 🙂

hi shekhar. the more i indulge myself in science (being a medic) the more i feel that science will never give us any concrete answers. or it might seem that it has and then few years down the line it will all be proven wrong. this whole ‘god particle’ business—they might come up with some funda and then change it all again. why? because reasoning and experiments and research comes from the conscious/ logical mind which has its limitations.
all this concept of duality is there in our scriptures and the rishis never did any experiments, they delved in the subconscious. take for example ‘zero’ which you mention. someone in india (forget his name) conceptualised it while meditating….and look at all zero has given us.
i recently had a bit of a crisis about the medicine i practice as i feel, more and more, that all these drugs, tests etc are useless. all we need is an ayurvedic lifestyle and there will be perfect health.
likewise i feel science should take a backstep from these silly scary experiments and chill, contemplate, help, share….

That was Aryabhatta who got the mighty cool zero in play. And you’re absolutely right about modern medicine and pharmaceuticals. All those chemicals that are processed in labs are naturally present in most Ayurvedic herbs. It’s through the power of the inner Self that all those Rishis got such comprehensive solutions from nature. They did not have to sit and do stupid experiments to find solutions.
However, modern medicine does have a place today because extreme conditions need extreme cure. A person who has no concept of a vegetarian diet or yoga or such a lifestyle to have a clear intellect prevalent in Vedic times when Ayurveda was formulated, will develop certain diseases that may be out of the domain of Ayurveda. Having said that, it’s never too late to get in that flow.

I am Science graduate ,I dont know why every body calls something as God particle.Its a simple concept thats behind the LHC experiment its so simple,but i dont know why there are vague interpretion and imaginations.
As usual i want to go to Basic,even if you are a science student or not,know that every thing in the world is made up of Atoms,and Atom is divided into Protons neutrons and Electrons,and these are the fundamental & basic elements of an Atom.We have reached upto this point and discovered these particles,but we dont know what these particles are made of.These particles,Protons ,electrons are smallest particles that have mass, so a proton or electron is the smallest mass,but we want to know what makes this Mass,so we need to look into whats there in a Proton or electron.
To look whats in protons ,two protons are made to collide from opposite side at speed of light,that will result in smashing protons,which would bring out its basic particles which makes them.
Hence we call this things inside Proton or electron as God Particle.
To do this experiments LHC is used,there are many LHCs in the world,but for this experiment the largest of all was built.Building up of minute black holes is possible as the Protons collide and repulse succesively which leads to form a (ABSENT SPACES that are massless,[not vaccum], which are defined to be) Black Holes.Multiple Black holes occur and collapse in Nano to Micro seconds.
I like this 7 billion dollar experiment, because unlike what some may think this is actually an exercise in humility. This is man acknowledging they don’t know everything and trying to get a closer understanding of the universe and its beginnings. You know, come to think of it religion is such a strong instituion, everything can be inprobable logic be addressed using religious metaphors.
