Dear Shekhar,
I think you’ve got your fundas right about the meaning of “love”, going by your last blog, “Loving, Shiva…..”.
Wishing everyone here a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year. I’m off to watching Babel at the nearby Fame Adlabs now.
Cheers!

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu has made an excellent comment about the world we live in with his film, Babel. And make no mistake about it, it’s a fucked up world. It is nothing short of a miracle that this planet survives despite the utter chaos. There is a total lack of communication here. Someone wants to say something and somebody understands something else. The truth is that nobody *wants* to understand the other. Everyone’s so busy with his/her own illusions about their reality…..hence: Babel. Great performances by Brad and Cate, as usual. The rest of the cast was brilliant too. Must watch.
This is the first time that I saw two back 2 back movies in a theatre. Didn’t know what else to do with the public holiday of Bakri Eid. The second movie I saw was “I See You”. Don’t have good news for Arjun/Mehr Rampal, the producers of the film, as the hall was empty. It was like having a private screening of the film with a couple of other people. Lol. If you can sit through the first 30-40 minutes of the film, it wasn’t such a bad story idea, actually. I think part of the blame for the debacle should go to the title of the film, which was suggested to Arjun by his new friend, Karan Johar. Why keep an English title for a Hindi film? It deters the Hindi speaking audience from entering the theatre.
Couldn’t help but observe that Chunky Pandey (surprise….surprise) has matured a lot as an actor with age. But the bottomline is that this was not an auspicious start for Arjun-Mehr’s careers as Producers. Even good-luck appearances by SRK and Hrithik in the opening song of the film could not bring this film luck. Total waste of money. Can I get a refund?
Cheers!
