I for one felt really proud of Shilpa as she emerged as a winner from Big Brother. I got texts from all my ‘western’ friends – all very excited and asking me to turn on the TV ..
Shilpa was charming and honest. My heart went out to her as she admitted that she had won nothing in her life before. And then I read all those quotes from the Hindi film Industry saying that she was always a ‘B’ grade actress and most likely to remain so.
Hey ! I am rooting for her. I hope she proves them all wrong. I hope she gets huge contracts in the UK and certainly deserves to make more than the £ 8 million that the awful Jane Goody made from her previous appearance.
If I see Shilpa I am going to give her a big hug and say ‘well done Girl ! Full marks to you !” But I have a feeling that now I will have to get through to her through an agent, a publicist and manager.
Good on you, Shilpa and Good Luck ! Play your cards well. This is your big oppertunity,
Shekhar
Hi Shekhar,
I am also proud of Shipla, who accidentally became the agent of change of what could be a very big culture shift in the UK. This also goes on to prove that great opportunities come out when we are hardly looking for them – such is the mystery of providence. This one came out of a situation that demanded her to face harsh criticism with grace, and she did just that, and trumped the britsh people with the same virtue, which they are proud to call there own.

You can only be a “B” grade actor in “B” grade films…right ?
Anyway, who am I to criticise the Indian film industry, I actually enjoy those films – Shilpa shone in her first few films, if not as an “actress” then certainly as someone watchable as a dancer & a mover in a medium which is all about movement – she’s eminently watchable…
To quote her – “Chicken Curry Rules!”…
Best part was – she displayed intelligence, attitude and behaved like almost Indian living aboard do.
with recent limelight, she is most noticed Indian film actress. I certainly hope she is smart enough to make this big and better things for her career, instead of just making little more money.

Titles for the ‘Foot in the Mouth’ Trilogy :
1) The sun never sets on the Empire..
2) Britanny rules the waves..
3) Chicken curry rules..just.
I was appalled at the bullying she had to face in the Big Brother house.
I’m pleasantly surprised at how it turned out, to see goodwill alive and well in the UK.
Yeh, good luck to her!
Yeah it is absolutely nice that Shilpa emerged winner..What I liked about her is the dignified way she handled it all and even coming out of that program didnt raise a hue and cry, preferring to forget it as bad mannerism on part of her tormentors.
cheers
Dear Shekhar,
Since I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to reach you via phone and email for days now, I wouldn’t mind going through your agent, publicist and manager – could I have their contacts please?
A hopeful hack,
Pooja
