dancing with Shiva

the impossible dance
of chaos
finding the steps
to follow a pattern
where there is none
seeking harmony
without letting go
of linearity ?
being with shiva
with out
sensing timelessness?
allowing myself
to be
swept into
the chaos
of the dance
not resisting
not thinking
not trying
like a helpless child
in the wave of
a raging storm
of it’s mother’s milk
drowning
but not afraid
ad then the breathing
the breath of Shiva
silent
like a cool balm
washing away all the senses
and then silence
beyond the dancing
there is not dance
but stillness
just a gentle cry
from the baby’s last
sense of wonder
then …
the letting go
of the last breath
that mingles
with an everlasting
universal sigh
as the breath leaves me
and my body ceases to exist
as do i
lost beyond the dance
beyond the breath
beyond perception
beyond wisdom
for no reason

  3. Wow! Earlier today I was listening to the Shiv Chalisa and thinking about the universal dance! As I plan to spend some time on the dance as it leads up to Maha Shiv Ratri on my Universal Collective Prayer blog- http://universalcollectiveprayer.blogspot.com and that is always a dance no matter what religion…spent all of Christmas dancing with the Three Wisemen on my Advent Calander!:)…Fancy now seeing this post at the end of my day! 🙂 Seems we’re both thinking about the dance…and really we all are the dance so why not!:)

Fancy being on the same wavelength as one as enlightened as you though! 🙂

  5. …I was in a store yesterday, with my son…we came across a t-shirt that had the symbol of the dance of Shiva on it and written was
    “Karma Sutra…I Wrote the Book”
    🙂

  6. dancing Parvati,observing Shiva
    (together They complete the picture)
    The perfect order
    with an ever perfected
    pattern of Parvati
    with perfect harmony,
    not to be sought
    but felt
    and no linearity
    but endless and beginningless
    spirals
    Being Shiva
    without time
    but needing time
    to understand Parvati
    and her patterns
    Sweeping none into chaos
    but cajoling everyOne into the
    perfect order
    which can
    be resisted
    thought about
    and tried
    like a prudent child
    only taking enough milk
    from his mother’s breast
    to not drown in it
    but get nourished
    and thus
    have no reason
    to be afraid
    Shiva only observes
    but breathes not
    its Parvati who breathes
    for the pleasure of Shiva
    For Shiva is stillness
    Parvati the perfected dance
    and together they complete
    the picture.
    Silence or stillness
is not beyond dancing or breathing
    but complementary
    The Shekhar trotting the globe
    and apparent is Parvati
    The Shekhar observing it all
    perfectly still
    amidst the wild dance
    is Shiva.
    together They complete the picture

  7. Oh my! harijim, seems now I can
retire peacefully. I could not have given
    a better response.
Indeed parvati thinks there is no method in shiva’s dancing madness but there is.
Some see the picture from parvati’s side, some from shiva’s side, rare from both sides which shows both as complementary.
The ‘dance’ is of being and becoming, stillness and motion, time arrested and time passing, order and chaos, design and randomness all gelling together lol.
Now excuse my old man’s effort…Perhaps I should become silent…or dance almost invisibly to an invisible pattern with an almost invisible parvati deep within…

  8. Very interesting…
    it UN-knots…
but it takes courage to dance…
to reach stage of senselessness of no wisdom
    How many do that?

  9. Dancing as Shiva & Shakti
symbolic & philosophical is the concept of ‘ardhanareeswarar’
    perfect harmony
of the female & male energies
    in Oneself
    embodying the cycle
    of creation and dissolution
    of form and formlessness
    the female energy dances
    breathing life
    to create
    existence from non-existence
    form from formlessness
    He is the Cosmic embodiment
    of matter
    of the Universe
    of the five sacred elements
earth, water, wind, fire and space
    when the dancing stops
    so does the Universe
    no matter
    no breath
    no form
    just stillness
    and then
    the female energy dances
    again….

  10. no reason , huh ?!
    the reason is not known
    until wisdom is sown
    deep into the being
    a constant feeling
    of purpose
    of life
    of creativity
    day after night
    night after day
    till time stops counting
    and the heart starts writing
    on the mind’s canvas
    unending perceptions
    and glorious conceptions
    thought cycles
    and time cycles
    all resolve into void
    that is so pregnant
    over and over
    again and again
    until reason becomes clear
    being and non being
    laughing and dying
    all jokes
    of a different kind

  11. Ecstasy received is ecstasy otherwise its ego that plays games…use viveka to discern the folly of many egos in this kalyug.
Where thoughts, words, actions are aligned and detachment from that then there is..the union of shiva with his shakti…..
    Shakti:)

  12. Mr Shekar ji,
I promised myself to cross my fear since I no longer operate as me but the divine in me who is boundless.
From that perspective it occurred to me that I should offer to coach you foc, and we could document this seeing as you are very open and not afraid of bearing your soul.
This would allow people to see what is this new phenomena called coaching. I in fact did a talk on the spirit of coaching and offered it as a 21st century ‘Guru’ phenomena where the purpose of the Guru is to remove the darkness and allow the light to shine.
You are possibly wondering who I am and am I wanting something. All of life is an exchange at some level I just think it would be great for you to experience this depth of knowing who you are from a coaching perspective and it would be fun way for me and hopefully you and your audience. Your journey appears to be that of a seeking something..whatever that maybe, and what I love about your blog is the complete transparency so thats why I think this could work.
Another thing we have a further connection in that we were both accountants from a previous life!
I asked you today because you wrote of the dance, and so am I asking you to dance with me as your coach to yourself as **!!!**
If you wish to know more of who i am you can look at my blog
    http://www.shaktianand.blogspot.com/
This is a genuine offer for shivratri…dare to dance to bear your soul with a coach?
    Shakti

  13. Shekhar,
Hey, I just found something really cool and linked you might want to know about – the red apple. First, I found it in Tarkan’s “Hup,” and then, I found it in a gypsy song, “The Red Apple,” hop hop hop. Interesting. Anyway, you know how shiva is. ha! I like to link everything together. Or else I’m not happy.
    PS. Hope you are well.

  14. Sorry, back again. What I meant was, there aren’t many people who I can talk to about these kinds of linkings. I need philosopical people like you to talk to. Because you understand.
I know it doesn’t mean many things to most people, but it does mean something to artists. The meaning behind the words. And isn’t that all there is? Thanks. E
PS sorry for pissing everyone off in the past. I try to fit in – sort of. Even in my own country it’s a pain in the ass.

  15. This seems to be like a theme song of my soul….If i worship God for Gods sake….I wish he graces me to see his splendor self.

  16. A dark,dark blank cloud,
a cloud of silent fury,or forgiven calmness,
    A palm full of blessings.
    Time panics to stay close,
    Space tears off in grudge,
Spirits fly like bees, swarming around and across,
The trishula shines,or it is trinity ,
    Of curses,blessings and togethernesses,
The holy books weep in solitude,
    The caves tremble,lions faint,
    Aliens conspire.
    Scientists crave,
    Graves snore,
    Cosmos yawns,
    Thunders shiver,
But HE,smiles, smiles,oh how sweet thy smile.
    Serene,silent,sombre.

  17. Pranaam Shekhar ji
Beautiful expression!! Truly brilliant !! Keep opening up and flowing with the river of live.Surrender to what is unfolding.
Dancing as Shiva & Shakti – the joining together of shiva – conscious energy, and shakti – divine energy. Intimate relationships are one of the greatest and most profound sources of personal and spiritual growth, how to connect to the deepest principles for building a lasting relationship.
Today is Shivaratri “Auspicious darkness! ”
May happiness surround with his eternal love, strength and blessings on you, your love ones.
    Regards
    Surabhi
