  1. Dear Shekhar,
This is a great poem and I can clearly hear what you are trying to say. In many ways we all want to scream at the top of our voice and release it to the universe – don’t know what it means by it seems relaxing and often necessary.
And then have a hot water bath, sleep for hours – then wake up, light a jasmine candle – have a great cup of tea, read a newspaper, watch CNN, watch a cool documentary on youtube(my current passion), think about life, listen to some music, some more tea. Don’t know what I am writing, just whatever coming to mind – 2:15 am in NY.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend in Mumbai.
    Best Regards,
    Himanshu

  2. Can’t read, eyes anymore
    Words lost meaning, longtime back
Lost touch with touch, years ago
What ears hear, turns out to be untrue later
Smells are all mixed up, don’t convey much
Screams are all that i hear, see and smell
Please help! Help me understand fellow beings

  3. sea of screams
    dreams of screams
    screams in screams
    screams everywhere and yet
    they dare
    .
    .
    to dream
    .
    .
    to dream
    .
    .
is this a dream or me
    in those screams again
    again and yet again
    ah! not again

  4. don’t scream we have enough around us. if we will scream it will come back so laugh and feel the magic.

  5. hmmmmm shekhar,
life is strange…….we are thrown together with the one who cannot hear our scream or does’nt want to be disturbed by it…..so you
    cover the scream …….
    and offer the beam (smile!)
    …and hold onto the scream
for where you cannot be seen !
……..yet, sometimes we know the one who is alerted by our scream…..even in a dream…..
    so ……….can YOU hear MY scream……..? (there i go……..covering it with a beam 🙂 !
hey himanshu……….you’re a lucky guy if you can do all the stuff you wrote after you are done with the scream :)…….!
for some it would be followed by a space where the max you can do is cacoon yourself where you are allowed to be without saying a word and your heartbeat can take a much needed vacation.

  6. i laugh and chat when i do……..
    hold hands and love too…….
    shake hands and smile…..
    is part of my style……….
yet,all of the above may seem like a dream…
    until you hear me S-C-R-E-A-M…..!!
    ( coz boy….! when i scream..I SCREAM !)
this may seem a ferocious version…….but healthier………?? ha ha !

  7. amazing poem, expressing maximum of inner feeling! my only answer is….
    Aee Jindgi…….
    Gale lagaa…le….
Hamne bhi….tere har ek gum ko….gale se lagayaa hai….
    Hai naa !!!
    have a good day !!!!!!

  8. Sir, I want to amuse you with this little saying.
Chinti ke pug mein nupur baaje, woh bhi sahiib sunta hai..
vinod Agarwal – I scream we scream we all scream for attention.

  9. are vaah shekhar sahb, humne kuchh hi din pehle zahir kiya (pata nahin aapne padha bhi ki nahin)ki koyi kavita likhiye aur aap likh daale.
the best artists always look after their fans…..
    can you hear me scream?
how beautifully you have said (i think) that in all the ‘reaching out’/ trying to connect with others that we do….ultimately there is a sense of loneliness driving it. a sense that we are alone, even if we have someone’s hand to hold or lips to kiss.
and it is by this ‘attachment’ based ‘trying to connect’, that we ultimately scupper things and are left screaming even more.
if only we could tap the source within…….
recently after a class of yoga i realised (for a few minutes only, and then quickly lost the feeling) that it is possible to be with others, laugh and chat with them, love them and yet be detached. but it is difficult to be in that state.
does detachment mean to stop ‘screaming’ and start ‘not reacting’? isn’t it a myth that detachment means not loving? it is probably a much higher form of love which is not driven by our need to react but to nurture and serve the supreme
    love, shivani

  10. in other words:
main cheekh cheekh ke keh raha hoon,
    mujhe apne aap se bachaao
is anterman ke kaalepan se bachaao
    koyi sahi raah dikhaao
    love, shivani

  12. Never hide behind masks. If you really want to be creative, then there is no question of money, success, prestige, respectability — then you enjoy your activity; then each act has an intrinsic value. You dance because you like dancing; you dance because you delight in it. If somebody appreciates, good, you feel grateful. If nobody appreciates, it is none of your business to be worried about it. You danced, you enjoyed — you are already fulfilled.
You have invested much in your persona, in your mask. If you really want a life which has no boredom in it, drop all masks, be true. Sometimes it will be difficult, I know, but it is worth it. Be true. If you feel like loving your wife, love her, otherwise say you don’t feel like it.
Live more authentically. Drop the masks; they are a weight on your heart. Drop all falsities. Be exposed. Of course it is going to be troublesome but that trouble is worth it because only after that trouble will you grow and become mature. And then nothing is holding life. Each moment life reveals its newness. It is a constant miracle happening all around you only you are hiding behind dead habits.
Become a Buddha if you don’t want to be bored. Live each moment as fully alert as possible, because only in full alertness will you be able to drop the mask. You have completely forgotten what your original face is. Even when you stand before the mirror in your bathroom and you are alone, nobody is there, even standing before the mirror you don’t see your original face in the mirror. There too you go on deceiving.
Existence is available for those who are available to existence. And then I tell you, there is no boredom. Life is infinite delight.
