you

jumble,
like a jigsaw
pieces of myself scattered,
putting them together
searching for lost ones,
one piece that is missing,
that makes sense of the rest
is you

  1. Dear Shekhar,
This is similar to one of the poems you wrote earlier this year. It looks like that for the last few years you have gone deeply into this journey of self-discovery and understanding. As far as I see you are trying to make sense of what we are and what our meaning is and this search is practically endless and limitless. Some wonderful quotes on this perpetual search:
I searched and waited and when
    no enlightenment happened,
    I knew I was That.
    ~ Darina Stoyanova ~
“Did you go around the corner looking for something? Was it there? No? Then don’t search there anymore. The good things are always next to you.” Alexandra Mahlimay
The search for truth is more precious than its possession. Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)
    O you who’ve gone on pilgrimage –
where are you, where, oh where?
    Here, here is the Beloved!
Oh come now, come, oh come!
Your friend, he is your neighbor,
he is next to your wall –
You, erring in the desert –
what air of love is this?
    If you’d see the Beloved’s
    form without any form –
You are the house, the master,
You are the Kaaba, you! . . .
Where is a bunch of roses,
if you would be this garden?
    Where, one soul’s pearly essence
when you’re the Sea of God?
That’s true – and yet your troubles
may turn to treasures rich –
How sad that you yourself veil
    the treasure that is yours!
Rumi ‘I Am Wind, You are Fire’
    Translation by Annemarie Schimmel
Hope you are having a good day, Shekhar.
    Best Regards,
    Himanshu

  2. “Applause”
    one piece that is missing,
that makes sense of the rest
    is you
Scattered I am, scattered are my dreams…
scattered are dreams with alight themes…
Alight those dreams of a scattered dream…
In me dreams scattered in me I am shattered…
    The essence is you…
    The thirst tis you…
    The Hunger too divine…
    In fragments shall pine…
    Hell Shekhar aap kaise hai?
Allow me to tell you my real name…
    Sapna…
    Smile…

  4. jumble
    but never stumble
the piece you missed but never lost,
place it where it belonged first,
and the peace you get, is forever to last.
    Enjoy your movement, every moment.

  5. because smetimes, sunshine, you are so obsessed by your own self, that you see othere only through the prism of your own prejudices and insecurities, shekhar

  6. Hmmmmm……….yet if the person inspires such a haunting longing in you then……say it to that person !

  7. I have posted a mail dated 03 DEC 2007, on NAADI PALM LEAF EXPERIENCE. CAN I HAVE YOUR COMMENTS?

  8. Hi Shekhar,
    In all this website….
    I am looking for you
    A piece here and a piece there…
    trying to fit the puzzle…
    why waste time
    just go on living
    without asking questions
I am sure the beggar lady in your story…did not know your angle of the difference between her begging and the building worth $100 million…what’s it to her…she is just worried where her next meal will come from…

  9. There is a thread that
    holds me and life together
    with time i realised
    it has a name
    You
shekhar ji, you once told me that maybe that Angel gave me a glimpse only because he was meant to come and go only for that time – i tried and i learned it the hard way – but i realised that even though it was for a breif moment yet it was my entire life… and the poem above is what tells it all… “these jumbled pieces and the missing you” was all well when i understood what you said. I hope that you find that missing you too.. somewhere within yourself and make it your strength to make the rest meaningful…
    Take care
Traveller (lonely no more as the missing you was found somewhere deep within myself – even if only as a memory) Thanks

  10. Shekhar!
You make poetry dance in the space of abstraction! And you dont even have your other tools here (camera and the rest!)
I am inspired everytime I have read your entries.
“Beauty” “Goodness” “Expansion” “Liberating” – comes to my mind as I read you.
Im soooo glad I discovered your blog!

  11. Hi,
I can truly empathise with you. Because even im looking for that one missing piece that can put some sense in my life. Its so strange that no happiness seems complete without that one missing piece.
I started reading your blog recently and i truly respect and adore you as a person. Thanks for sharing your views with us.

  12. What if
    What if that one piece
    is someone
    who finds her missing piece
    in someone else.
    What if that one piece
    you find
    but completion
    is not possible.
    What if that one piece
    she is around
    your life
    reminding you of the void
    each & every moment.
    Longing, deeply loving
    eternally waiting…
