A Director’s Prayer 2

At the end of week 2
Hanging on,
to the slim thread of instinct
which is lost so easily
if cut by arrogance

for in this punishing schedule
where there is not a moment to think
like a soldier in the middle of battle
dodging bullets and moving blindly forward
Be one with the bullet
live by pure instinct
no time for logical thought
tap into something that is more immense
than yourself
do it quickly
impulsively
listen to your heart
amid all the fear of
that pervades the set,
be in love
never, never
not be in love
trust
that somehow,
you are loved
by God
and be pure of heart,
shekhar

  1. Thanks, Shekhar, for all the candid musings you’ve been posting during production. You’re inspiring me. I’m praying the richest blessings on this beautiful thing you are creating in yourself and for your film.
    lots of love,
    Karen

  2. Dear Shekhar,
Feels like I can see you dodging bullets on the sets of Golden Age in your shining armour, hair blown by the wind (blower fans), gleaming sword (microphone) in hand. 😉
    Cheers!

  3. Dear Shekhar, may the wisdom which has claimed your mind, be with you always, all-ways and a day!
I wish I were there, right this moment! The set all around me; watching the hustle and bustle of people-riddled terrain, as the sets come to life; in living colour; to unfold to the eye-history as accounted for.
    Movies are a living book!
Carry on well, Shekhar, we are with you and the cast and crew in spirit; knowing you all work this hard, this madness of schedules-for each one of you, and for each one of us too! 🙂
May it all unfold as it should..
    North

  4. I can only wish you, the cast, and crew the purest in experience and instinct. Trust that all will turn out for the best. Regards, and keep us posted on your progress
